9 Days and Counting!

Well, as you probably know, the 3G iPhone is rumored (and supposedly confirmed) to be announced at WWDC on June 9, which is in only 9 days! There have been numerous more iPhone related announcements, rumors, and terrible Photoshop jobs. Here are the best and the worst of 'em:

1. Bioshock for the iPhone!

Bioshock is an awesome game for PC and Xbox 360... and soon for the iPhone! It was annonced that a full, 3D, monster of a game version of Bioshock will be released for the iPhone!

2. More evidence that the 3G iPhone will be coming soon...

  • AT&T has hired some "temporary employees" for a "special product launch for the summer", which they did at about this time last year.
  • AT&T has told all employees that no vacations may be taken between June 15 and July 15, which they did for the last iPhone launch, as well.
3. Then, of course, the good ol' case molds, Photoshop jobs, and random rumors:

Griffin case mold gives away 3G iPhone?

3G iPhone Image Leaked?

Apple's shipments labeled "electronic computers" could be the new iPhones?

It seems more and more like we only need to wait 9 days for the 3G iPhone... I s'pose only time will tell...

Guitar Hero wants to be Rock Band when he grows up.

Today at "D", with the help of Brody Jenner, Paula Abdul, and Tony Hawk, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick showed off Guitar Hero World Tour for the first time. There are drums, a microphone, and two guitars... Sound familiar? I hope so, that is exactly what Rock Band is! AND, the new Guitar Hero is gonna cost more than Harmonix's music game, its gonna cost $190! See if you can tell in what way Activision isn't ripping off Harmonix for overall concept...

Walt Disney Wednesdays

Another Walt Disney Wednesday is here. The school year is winding down, and the summer is here! Since I am going to Disneyland in about a month, I find it fitting to post a quote by Uncle Walt that's related to Disneyland.

"I don't want the public to see the world they live in while they're in the Park (Disneyland). I want to feel they're in another world." - Walt Disney

This is one of the reasons as to why Disneyland is so awesome, and why California Adventure is so lame--Disney's California Adventure doesn't transport you to anywhere or "anytime" different.

Disneyland does.

Mars Phoenix Rover

Earlier tonight the Mars Rover, by the name of Phoenix, landed! NASA is keeping an up-to-date blog of the rover's exploits, they have raw images of the landing and of mars, and they have a live video feed. Very cool.

Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, and almost every other Summer Movie

I went to the Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull midnight showing. It was a decent movie, there were funny jokes, references to the other Indiana movies, romance, mystery, rotten Soviets, Indiana Jones' son, and it doesn't try to hide the fact that, yes, Indy is older. I wouldn't exactly put the new movie on par with the original trilogy, but it was still really awesome as a movie. It was slightly predictable, and pretty cheesy, but so were the other Indiana Jones movies, and I think that is what adds to the charm of the original series loved by all. I highly recommend that you go and see it. Here's the trailer:

Summer Movies:

Here is a list of the movies coming out between now and August. Some are good. Some are bad. I am basing my reviews purely on early reviews by others, trailers, and general buzz about the movies. I have included the trailers and release dates. Enjoy.

Kung Fu Panda: June 6. Another kids' movie that should be good fro a laugh or two, but no real plot, which is what every movie must have. Hopefully, Jack Black can lighten up the looks of this movie that needs star status to get people into theaters. From the trailer: 6/10.

You Don't Mess With the Zohan: June 6. Adam Sandler's new movie is sure to be hit. It seems very similar to some of his other movies. Yet again, good for laughs, but no extremely strong plot. 6/10.

The Happening
: June 13. M. Night Shyamalan is trying to redeem himself from the atrocity of Lady in the Water, but with no avail. Early reviews are calling this movie a flop. Mark Wahlberg, an awesome actor, hopefully, can save it from disaster. 4/10.

The Incredible Hulk: June 13. Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors, and he is one of the least likely people to play the Hulk. I am excited to see him in this role, though. 7/10.

Get Smart: June 20. I can't wait! From what I can tell from the trailers and clips, Steve Carell plays Maxwell Smart flawlessly! This movie will surely be filled with comedy, action, romance, comedy, adventure, comedy, and comedy. Anne Hathaway, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and Alan Arkin join Steve Carell in this sure-to-be hilarious summer hit! 9/10.

The Love Guru
: June 20. Mike Myers plays his usual annoying, supposed-to-be-funny characters. This movie has already been made multiple times. It has no plot, but might be funny for a small laugh or two. This movie is more likely to offend than entertain. 3/10.

WALL-E: June 27. YEAH! Best Movie of the Year. Hands down. This movie has it all: romance, comedy, adventure... Pixar always makes sure to combine excellent animation with an awesome plot to create the best movie possible, and I'm sure that WALL-E won't let you down. 10/10.

Hancock: July 2. This movie looks pretty good. It has a great cast (Will Smith, Jason Bateman), and who can resist a drunken superhero?...Especially one played by Will Smith? 7/10.

Hellboy 2
: July 11. Guillermo Del Toro's movies are always awesome. I loved the first Hellboy, and this one looks like it won't let you down. 8/10.

Meet Dave
: July 11. What can I say? Eddie Murphy. Tiny Space Alien Eddie Murphys. Not funny jokes. 2/10.

Journey 3D: July 11. I loved the book. The movie seems to differ from the book, which is never a good sign. Although, it looks like they have a strong plot, Brendan Fraser, and complete 3D. 8/10.

The Dark Knight: July 18. Christian Bale takes Gotham City on once more, but this time he faces The Joker and Two Face. Awesome Trailer. Great Effects. Sweet Characters and Costumes. Thorough Plot. 9/10.

Step Brothers: July 25. Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are Step Brothers. Hilarity Insues. What else must I say? 8/10.

The Mummy Three: August 1. The first two were amazing. Jet Li is amazing. Brendan Fraser is amazing. This movie will be amazing...as long as they have a good plot. 7/10.

The Rocker: August 1. Rainn Wilson, the hilarious actor that plays Dwight in "The Office", must join his sons rock band since he can play the drums. Hilarity, once again, insues. 8/10.

The Pineapple Express: August 8. James Franco. Seth Rogen. Comedy... Just watch the trailer. 8/10.

Star Wars the Clone Wars
: August 15. Either you love it or you hate it. Stylized Animation. A new Star Wars movie. I don't know what to think about this one. Only time will tell.

Tropic Thunder: August 15. This movie looks thoroughly awesome. Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey Jr. as a black man, all star in a movie as actors that think they are filming a war movie, when they are in a real war. 9/10. (Keep in mind that this is a Red Band Trailer)

As you can see, there are so many good movies coming out this summer. I hope you found some that you want to go see. Personally, I can't wait for WALL-E, Tropic Thunder, or Get Smart! Bye.

Walt Disney Wednesdays

Well, it's Wednesday again, and guess what that means. Yep, time for another "Walt Disney Wednesdays" post! Today, you will read another great Walt Disney quote:

"Disneyland is a work of love. We didn't go into Disneyland just with the idea of making money." - Walt Disney

This is one quote that should be read and embedded into the minds of all of the "suits" at Disney who have changed the once-magical wonder-world of Disneyland into a mechanical, lifeless aspect of a business who's only goal is to make money.

I'm not saying that I don't love Disneyland, because I absolutely do, but Disneyland isn't what it used to be. And it isn't what it used to be because now the Disney Company is more interested in money than anything else. Now that Lasseter is "in", things are sure to change. Anyway, Happy Walt Disney Wednesday, and remember, "Disneyland is a work of love. We didn't go into Disneyland just with the idea of making money." - Walt Disney

3G iPhone Launch Imminent on June 9?

According to various reliable sources, the long-anticipated 3G iPhone is to be announced on June 9 at the WWDC Keynote. It is said to be available for world-wide sale on or around June 18. Another way in which this launch will be different from the 1st-gen's, is that this phone will not be fixed at a certain price. I guess only time will tell...

The Evil Eisner Epoch

Remember when Disney's animated department wasn't on their "A-game"? Or when the atrocity of Disney's California Adventure was created? How about when Disney's biggest break was buying up another company and getting Lasseter on their side? Well, those were all due to the handy work of the terrible Mr. Eisner and Mr. Katzenberg... This is a funny, truthful video that shows the history and the flaws of Disney in the last few decades...

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

I went to the midnight showing of "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" last night, and I have good news and I have bad news. Alright, bad news first, I saw a trailer for possibly the worst, dumbest, and most idiotic movie ever made. It's made by the Walt Disney Company, and I cannot believe that Lasseter could let this into theaters. It looks like one of those truly awful, straight to DVD, no plot, car wrecks that Lasseter is supposed to put a stop to! Now, it's possible that this movie could turn out to have an actual plot, and I could be wrong...but I doubt it, watch the trailer.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua:

Now, to get that bad taste out of your mouth, a review of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (Prince Caspian for short).

Prince Caspian was a great movie. It had action, adventure, mystery, romance, comedy, drama, a great cast of good characters, and it stayed true to the book. I would give Prince Caspian an 8 out of 10. There are multiple epic battles, twists in the plot, and it, of course, has a happy ending. I highly recommend that you see this movie, especially if you read the book or if you loved the 1st movie, "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe".

Walt Disney Wednesdays

Walt Disney. The man that started it all. He was told that he'd never achieve his dreams. And after years of ridicule and going bankrupt numerous times, all of his life's dreams were fulfilled. Walt Disney was a visionary. He had huge dreams and he wouldn't take no for an answer. So, in honor of Mr. Disney, every Wednesday you will be given either a quote or some background on Uncle Walt.

Today, a Walt Disney Quote:

"To all that come to this happy place: welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America... with hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world." -Walt Disney

Everything You Need to Know About WALL-E

The next Pixar movie to be released is directed by Andrew Stanton, and is entitled, WALL-E. This movie comes out on June 27 of this year, and it takes place many years into the future, the year 2700 in fact, when the humans have all left the earth. All that remains are the piles and piles of garbage that made us leave in the first place, and WALL-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-class), a trash-collecting robot. WALL-E's life, however, will be changed forever when he meets a sleek, new robot named EVE. Here's the trailer. I can't wait!

If you just can't get enough of WALL-E (I know I can't!), you might like some of these little vignettes that show WALL-E interacting with objects.

A Hero's Journey, an Interview with WALL-E director Andrew Stanton:

Along with the movie, two new WALL-E products will be released that I am gonna get as soon as they hit the shelves. The first is similar to the little robot dogs that you hook your MP3 player up to, then they dance and play your music. This new product, however, as you can guess, is a little WALL-E that dances to and plays your music. Here's the link, it is called the "iDance WALL-E".

The iDance WALL-E. An MP3 playing robot who dances,
whose eyes light up and who talks with adorable sound effects.

The second, even cooler product, is a $190 WALL-E robot that is programmable. Here's some of the information given in the press release for this awesome item:
  • Was designed in "close collaboration" with Pixar animators
  • Ships with a remote control (used for programming)
  • Features an "innovative touch programming system"
  • Capable of "several emotional states" and "thousands of combinations" of movements
  • Has infrared, sonic, and touch sensors
  • MP3 compatible with built-in speakers
  • Will be sold starting this fall through ToysRUs and DisneyShopping.com
Here's a really cool video of the prototype of "Ultimate WALL-E". Amazing.

That's all folks. I hope that now you're as excited for WALL-E as I am!
