The Best Star Wars Lego Set of All Time

This is a Star Wars Lego set (# 10188) that was announced recently. It is really cool, as you can see. It comes with 25 awesome minifigs, almost 4000 pieces, and is a fairly good representation of all that went on inside the Death Star during the original trilogy. It costs $399, and ships out in mid-September. Awesome.

Toy Story Mania!

There is a new ride that can be found in Florida's and in California's Disney Parks. It is called "Toy Story Mania!". I am very excited to go on this ride (and take lots of pictures for you to see)!

Here is the link to the official website. You can even build your own version of the ride!

Here is a description of the ride taken from the Disneyland website:

"Step right up and compete in an interactive "Toy Story" adventure like no other. It's Toy Story Mania!— a brand new attraction inspired by Disney•Pixar’s “Toy Story” films.

Grab some 3-D glasses, board your ride vehicle and zip off into a 4-D world of exciting, midway-style games.

Highlights include the following:

  • Play games hosted by favorite Characters including Woody, Buzz, Rex and Hamm!
  • Use your spring-action shooter to launch darts at balloons, rings at aliens, eggs at barnyard targets and more!
  • Certain targets trigger surprise reactions and special effects.
  • Compete for the high score.
  • It's never the same experience twice."
So, there ya go. It is completely interactive, 3D, and filled with those great, familiar Toy Story characters.

Here are some videos and interviews (featuring John Lasseter and Bob Iger!) about the new ride that opened yesterday:

Lasseter and a preview of the ride:

A WALL-E Article

There is a lot of anticipation for the new Pixar movie everywhere you look. Reviews, screenshots, false rumors, and news articles. I, being very excited for WALL-E, have read many of these news articles and have found one in particular that is very interesting. It talks about how WALL-E is a big gamble for Pixar. It discusses the psychology that the film's creators went through, as well as how the audiences will react. Here's the link. It is very interesting, here's a little taste of the article:

"Apparently, because for its first 30 min., the new Pixar astonishment WALL•E has virtually no dialogue. Nor does it offer a Star Wars--like print crawl to inform viewers that this is Earth 800 years from now. The mechanical critter who is the film's hero can speak only in electronic grunts and sighs, or in one-word bursts, like a chattier R2-D2. The movie's other main creature, a robot named EVE, also can speak only a few words. Yet it's Pixar's big, bold belief that the mass audience will be astute enough to follow the visual clues and game enough to play along. So confident is the studio in its ability to charm audiences, it has made a futurist movie that's a lot like an old silent picture.

When writer-director Andrew Stanton--whose last film was Pixar's all-time box-office champ, Finding Nemo--showed the first reels of WALL•E to the studio's brain trust three years ago, fellow auteur Brad Bird (The Incredibles) told him, "Man, you didn't make it easy for yourself." A movie that shows but doesn't tell, and whose leading characters are essentially mimes, could put an end to the eight-film box-office winning streak that began with Toy Story in 1995 and continued unbroken through last year's Ratatouille. To sell the project, Stanton had only his faith in the idea, and the collaboration of sound-design guru Ben Burtt, who would create WALL•E's "voice" and most of the film's other noises. But as Stanton recalls, "No one questioned this. They all knew it would work.""

Here's that link again. It's a great article and I recommend that you read it.

Should Current iPhone Users Upgrade to iPhone 3G?

Should current iPhone users upgrade to iPhone 3G?

In short: Yes!

In long: Yes!

There are several reasons as to why I think so:

1. 3G is over 2X faster than EDGE! Your new iPhone will be so fast compared to your old one, that you won't believe it!

2. Flush headphone jack. No more carrying around tiny, easy-to-lose adapters!

3. Solid metal buttons make a sturdier replacement for the current ones.

4. It is prettier than the current iPhone. It has a glossy back, it is contoured to fit hands and pockets, and no more annoying black bar at the bottom that always comes loose.

5. GPS is awesomely awesome. Period.

6. Bigger, better battery. 300 hours of standby time, 5 hours of 3G talk time, and 24 hours of audio playback...this battery is awesome.

7. 16 GB! If you are like me and you were an early, EARLY iPhone adopter, you are stuck with a 4 or 8 GB device. I don't know about you, but I have a bunch of songs and videos, and I am gonna load up on apps, and I like my memory!

8. $$$. The new iPhone is cheap. Bottom line. Sell your current iPhone for somewhere in between $100 and $175. Who knows? You may get lucky on eBay and get over $300 for it!

9. As an added bonus if you are part of a major corporation, some major enterprise settings and features have been added.

10. The new geotagging feature is very schweet. Using GPS, the iPhone knows where you take all of your pictures. So, when looking at a map, you'll see what pics were taken where, very cool.

11. You want one. You know you do.

If I still haven't convinced you, watch the ad and look at the photos, they should do the trick.

You may be saying to yourself, "But my current iPhone works fine!" Well, is your current iPhone part of the super fast 3G network? Or have GPS? Or a bunch of memory? How about a glossy back, metal buttons, and a convenient flush headphone jack? Think it over. You can afford it. You really want it. 3G iPhone. Coming everywhere July 11.
