81st Annual Academy Awards' Winners ('Slumdog' Wins Big)

Briefly: The favorite at this year's Oscars, Slumdog Millionaire, did not disappoint. It won 8 awards out of its 11 nominations. These wins include best picture, director, screenplay, score, song, cinematography, sound mixing and film editing.

Although I think that WALL-E was more worthy of winning the sound mixing award, I am glad that the feel-good movie of last year, Slumdog, did so well at the Oscars. It was a very good movie and deserved to dominate the Oscars.

Other notable winners include: Sean Penn won actor in a leading role for his performance in Milk, Kate Winslet for leading actress in The Reader, Penelope Cruz for actress in a supporting role for Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Heath Ledger for actor in a supporting role for The Dark Knight, Milk for original screenplay, Benjamin Button for art direction, visual effects and makeup, and WALL-E for best animated feature.

I wish that The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and WALL-E would have won more of the awards they were nominated for, but I am still glad that Slumdog Millionaire was the big winner of the night.
