JHM: TS3's Producer and her Journey to Success

Briefly: Recently published on Jim Hill Media is a very interesting article on how Darla K. Anderson, producer of A Bug's Life, Monsters Inc., Cars, and Toy Story 3, got her start in show business and landed the dream job of a lifetime.

It all started with her luckily running into a bigwig from Hollywood, some menial tasks at random production houses, and the eventual discovery of a little studio called Pixar. She was initially hired (after 18 months of holding out for Pixar to actually start hiring) as the head of the commercial division at the struggling studio while they also began production on Toy Story. After proving her worth in the commercial division, she was given the job of producing A Bug's Life, which, as she states in the article, "was the film that proved that Pixar wasn't a one hit wonder."

The article goes on to discuss her role with Toy Story 3, and more about her and Pixar Animation Studios in general. It is a very interesting read, especially for people trying to break out into the movie business (like yours truly). Read all about Darla's wonderful story of luck and persistence here.

Pixar in The Wonderful World of Color

Above you will find a very interesting video about Pixar's contributions and involvement with the upcoming light and fountain show, The Wonderful World of Color, coming to Disney's California Adventure this summer. There are some very interesting interviews, as well as very cool clips from the testing done at the actual site of the show.

Unkrich's Pixar Stuff to Benefit Haiti

Lee Unkrich is helping out the people who are suffering in Haiti by auctioning off his great collection of Pixar things he has accumulated over the years. Each item is being auctioned separately, and they include crew jackets from numerous Pixar films, baseball hats, T-shirts, signed art, and even specially made Monsters, Inc. Jones Soda. I'd like to stress that these charity auctions are being created and handled personally by Lee Unkrich, director of Toy Story 3, and are not being organized by either Pixar or Disney. Also, it is important to note that 100% of the final sale price will go to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund. There are some real treasures being put up for auction and I would encourage you to take a look at them. After all, it is for a great cause.

I was looking for a good collection of Pixar wallpapers, but I couldn't seem to find a decent compilation of all of the great Pixar wallpapers out there. So, I made one. I compiled screenshots from movies, official wallpapers, and got more from various other sources. Some are gigantic, others are tiny; there are ones for any resolution screen or phone. So, for your downloading pleasure, here is a complete collection of Pixar Wallpapers. Update: I will constantly be updating this post with new and exciting wallpapers. They may seem like repeats but some are much larger, or cropped for better wallpapers. Also, some are customly made by me by combining Pixar's concept art.
