If you haven't seen Up yet, I recommend you see it right away. Although I think that the 2D showing is better since the vibrant colors don't get diluted by dark glasses, if you go to a 3D showing, you get to see the new trailer for Toy Story 3!!

Visit the official Toy Story 3 website which has just gone live. The film will be released in (ugh) Disney Digital 3D on June 18, 2010. I can't wait! I love both Toy Story and its sequel, and I am sure that I will also love the third.

Today is the Day for 'Up'!
Well, we're finally here. Pixar's tenth film is now in theaters. After an exciting press release announcing the title through more rumors and leaked art, an opening at Cannes and merchandising releases, we finally get to see the movie! So, what are you waiting for? Go out and see Up!
Oh, you wanna read more about it first?
Then, first, read my review of Up. It is a comprehensive review of the wonderful film Up, and the somewhat disappointing short Partly Cloudy.
Next, read all about the interesting technologies Pixar had to invent inorder to animate 10,000 balloons in Up (which look spectacular, by the way).
After that, feel free to read all about Jordan, the little boy who does a great job voicing Russell. Also, you might wanna check out Rotten Tomatoes where Up has a 98%! (I'd have given it a 100%, but at least its in the upper nineties.)

The Awards Season Loves WALL-E Almost as Much as He Loves EVE (Updated)
WALL-E was a truly awesome movie. (Check out my full review here).
Apparently, the rest of Hollywood thinks so, too. Here is a brief list of what recognition, awards and nominations WALL-E has received thus far:
WALL-E topped Time Magazine's list of the top 10 movies of 2008, saying that it "still connected with a huge audience. Great science-fiction love stories (there aren't many) will do that. So will futurist adventures that evoke the splendor of the movie past."

Iron Man News Galore!
What is your favorite movie of the year? What about your favorite superhero movie of the year? How about your favorite movie featuring Robert Downey, Jr. of the year? I can guarantee that you answered at least one, if not all, of these questions with the answer of Iron Man.
Iron Man was a truly great movie. It had a strong plot, great character development, superb acting, and stupendous effects to top it all off. The movie, not surprisingly, grossed $578 million worldwide while in theaters (and that figure doesn't even include DVD/Blu-ray sales). No moviegoer can resist the charm of Downey, the action of a flying superhero, or the brilliance of the awesome Mach 2 suit.
For this reason, among others, Robert Downey, Jr. has extended his deal with Marvel; this deal will result in an Iron Man 2 (set to bow on May 7, 2010), an Iron Man 3, and The Avengers, all of which will feature Mr. Downey as your favorite playboy Tony Stark, and his red-suited alterego.
This is great news! This deal will help out everybody; we get to see more of the amazing Iron Man franchise, Robert Downey, Jr. gets well-deserved boffo bucks, and the studios get to reap the benefits of yet another superhero franchise. Hooray! Everybody wins!
The Avengers will feature Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America and Thor, all of which will have their own feature film(s), some of which already do. This already amazing movie, The Avengers, is set to be released on July 15, 2011--I can't wait!
The Iron Man franchise, as well as The Avengers, however, will feature Don Cheadle, instead of Terrence Howard, as Col. James Rhodes.
In addition to Downey's return, Joe Favreau, the director of the first Iron Man, will return to direct Iron Man 2, as well as be the executive producer for The Avengers.
In addition to these exciting superhero roles, Downey is set to play Sherlock Holmes in a 2009 feature film, and is rumored to play Hugh Hefner in a bio pic. Very interesting....

Michael Keaton to be in Toy Story 3
Briefly: IESB.net has interviewed Jodi Benson, who has done various different voices for Disney, including Tour Guide Barbie in Toy Story 2. During her interview, she accidentally let loose a little bit of information. She said that Michael Keaton will play opposite her, Barbie, as the popular doll, Ken. I can't wait for the release of Toy Story 3, as well as the true and false "leaks of information" that constantly come up between now and its official release date.

'Dark Knight' Steps Down For 'Thunder'
The Dark Knight has been the reigning champ at the box office for almost four weeks. It has broken multiple box office records, and has wowed the critics.
But now, Tropic Thunder has beaten The Dark Knight at the box office! This weekend, The Dark Knight made almost $17,000,000, where Ben Stiller's comedy made approximately $26,000,000.
The only question remaining, is will The Dark Knight beat Titanic's best overall grossing at the box office? Titanic made a total of $600,788,188 while in theaters. Christopher Nolan's second Batman movie has made $471,493,000, thus far. One can only hope that it will pull through to the top box office champ of all time.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Film Pushed Back Almost 9 Months
Briefly: The film version of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was scheduled for release in November of this year. Today, however, Warner Bros. announced that the movie has been pushed back to a release in July of 2009! The 9-month push back was caused by multiple things, including the fact that Warner Bros. is still experiencing setbacks from the writers' strike, and they want to be apart of the summer movie season (which is the most lucrative time of the year for movies). Filming is done, but they just don't feel like this November is the right time to release, I guess. As you know, the preview is already out:

The Three Best Things About Ben Stiller's Newest Film: A 'Tropic Thunder' Review
I just went to the midnight showing of Ben Stiller's newest comedy, Tropic Thunder. The premise is that a group of actors won't cooperate with the filming of a big budget war movie, so they are thrown into an actual battlefield to be filmed, but everything goes wrong.
Here are the three best things about this movie:
- Robert Downey Jr.: He is the best part of Tropic Thunder. Downey has the best lines, the funniest jokes, and the most genuine and believable character. Some of the monologues he gives to Stiller about acting and movies are uproarious. He plays an academy award-winning Australian actor who underwent a procedure to darken his skin to play the African-American Sergeant. He demonstrates how some actors take method acting to the next level, and he does this flawlessly and hilariously.
- Fake Trailers: Before the movie starts, fake trailers play to show you the actors and the types of roles they play. My favorite is Robert Downey Jr.'s trailer, Satan's Alley, which features Tobey Maguire.
- Cameos: As stated above, Tobey Maguire makes a cameo appearance in one of the trailers, but many other movie stars make cameo appearances as well: Jason Bateman, Mickey Rooney, Kathy Hilton, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Lance Bass, John Voight, Tyra Banks, Amy Stiller, and Tom Cruise. I would never have thought that Tom Cruise would play the hip hop dancing, balding, fat, cursing movie producer that he does in the movie. It is really funny to see him in that role.

Is There a Batman Curse?
Everyone is aware of the supposed Superman curse, which involved Christopher Reeves, George Reeves, and possibly others. When I went to see The Dark Knight again, I started thinking about whether a Batman curse has started to emerge. The evidence of this curse can be found in the fact that Christian Bale was arrested, Heath Ledger died, and Morgan Freeman was in a car accident. All of these people, as you probably know, played major roles in the new Batman movie. In addition to that, a special effects expert was killed on the set of The Dark Knight in a Batmobile-related accident. I know that its probably not a curse and just a big coincidence (as is the Superman curse, I'm guessing), but its still something to think about.

Box Office Updates: 'WALL-E' Still Strong, 'Dark Knight' Beats 'Mummy'
The summer is starting to wind down, but the summer movies are still going strong. The top grossing movie over the weekend was 'The Dark Knight'. This may have surprised some people, because The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor was expected to have a very strong start, as the other 2 Mummy movies did. The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor grossed $40,457,770, and The Dark Knight grossed $42,664,219, just a little more than The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
Number eight over the weekend was WALL-E. Number eight may not seem great, but after being in theaters for over a month, eighth isn't too shabby. Pixar's newest movie has just crossed the $200,000,000 mark, and has grossed a total of $204,078,076! Hopefully WALL-E will be able to beat Pixar's current box office champ, Finding Nemo, which earned $864,625,978 while in theaters.
In the coming weeks, however, will moviegoers trade the action of The Dark Knight and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor for the R-rated comedies Tropic Thunder and Pineapple Express? We'll see...

Toy Story 3 Now In Production
Briefly: pro.imdb.com has recently changed its "Pre Production" status to the "In Production" status for Toy Story 3. This means that Pixar is done with the script and other pre-production stuff, and has moved on the next step of your favorite toys' next animated feature!
Just as a reminder, here is the plot outline as given by IMDb Pro:
Woody, Buzz, and the rest of their toy-box friends are dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, departs for college.It is set to come out June 18, 2010, and features the usual gang of actors doing voice overs: Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Don Rickles, as well as the other voice actors from the first two Toy Story movies.
I'll let you know when they start "filming" (recording voices and animating).

Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, and almost every other Summer Movie
Summer Movies:
Here is a list of the movies coming out between now and August. Some are good. Some are bad. I am basing my reviews purely on early reviews by others, trailers, and general buzz about the movies. I have included the trailers and release dates. Enjoy.
Kung Fu Panda: June 6. Another kids' movie that should be good fro a laugh or two, but no real plot, which is what every movie must have. Hopefully, Jack Black can lighten up the looks of this movie that needs star status to get people into theaters. From the trailer: 6/10.
You Don't Mess With the Zohan: June 6. Adam Sandler's new movie is sure to be hit. It seems very similar to some of his other movies. Yet again, good for laughs, but no extremely strong plot. 6/10.
The Happening: June 13. M. Night Shyamalan is trying to redeem himself from the atrocity of Lady in the Water, but with no avail. Early reviews are calling this movie a flop. Mark Wahlberg, an awesome actor, hopefully, can save it from disaster. 4/10.
The Incredible Hulk: June 13. Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors, and he is one of the least likely people to play the Hulk. I am excited to see him in this role, though. 7/10.
Get Smart: June 20. I can't wait! From what I can tell from the trailers and clips, Steve Carell plays Maxwell Smart flawlessly! This movie will surely be filled with comedy, action, romance, comedy, adventure, comedy, and comedy. Anne Hathaway, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and Alan Arkin join Steve Carell in this sure-to-be hilarious summer hit! 9/10.
The Love Guru: June 20. Mike Myers plays his usual annoying, supposed-to-be-funny characters. This movie has already been made multiple times. It has no plot, but might be funny for a small laugh or two. This movie is more likely to offend than entertain. 3/10.
WALL-E: June 27. YEAH! Best Movie of the Year. Hands down. This movie has it all: romance, comedy, adventure... Pixar always makes sure to combine excellent animation with an awesome plot to create the best movie possible, and I'm sure that WALL-E won't let you down. 10/10.
Hancock: July 2. This movie looks pretty good. It has a great cast (Will Smith, Jason Bateman), and who can resist a drunken superhero?...Especially one played by Will Smith? 7/10.
Hellboy 2: July 11. Guillermo Del Toro's movies are always awesome. I loved the first Hellboy, and this one looks like it won't let you down. 8/10.
Meet Dave: July 11. What can I say? Eddie Murphy. Tiny Space Alien Eddie Murphys. Not funny jokes. 2/10.
Journey 3D: July 11. I loved the book. The movie seems to differ from the book, which is never a good sign. Although, it looks like they have a strong plot, Brendan Fraser, and complete 3D. 8/10.
The Dark Knight: July 18. Christian Bale takes Gotham City on once more, but this time he faces The Joker and Two Face. Awesome Trailer. Great Effects. Sweet Characters and Costumes. Thorough Plot. 9/10.
Step Brothers: July 25. Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are Step Brothers. Hilarity Insues. What else must I say? 8/10.
The Mummy Three: August 1. The first two were amazing. Jet Li is amazing. Brendan Fraser is amazing. This movie will be amazing...as long as they have a good plot. 7/10.
The Rocker: August 1. Rainn Wilson, the hilarious actor that plays Dwight in "The Office", must join his sons rock band since he can play the drums. Hilarity, once again, insues. 8/10.
The Pineapple Express: August 8. James Franco. Seth Rogen. Comedy... Just watch the trailer. 8/10.
Star Wars the Clone Wars: August 15. Either you love it or you hate it. Stylized Animation. A new Star Wars movie. I don't know what to think about this one. Only time will tell.
Tropic Thunder: August 15. This movie looks thoroughly awesome. Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey Jr. as a black man, all star in a movie as actors that think they are filming a war movie, when they are in a real war. 9/10. (Keep in mind that this is a Red Band Trailer)
As you can see, there are so many good movies coming out this summer. I hope you found some that you want to go see. Personally, I can't wait for WALL-E, Tropic Thunder, or Get Smart! Bye.
