It has been over a week since WALL-E's opening, and, despite being up against Will Smith in Hancock and Angelina Jolie in Wanted, it continues to soar high above the competition at the box office. So far, it has domestically earned $103,876,000! And that compared to Wanted's $75,535,000, and Hancock's $60,121,000, makes it look even more impressive!
Go WALL-E!

More On the Line Forming In New York For the 3G iPhone

As you probably know, there is a line that has formed outside of Apple's 5th Avenue Store, and they're all waiting for the iPhone 3G. Supposedly, the group of people at the front of the line are trying to break a record for the longest time waiting in line for something. Here's the link to the video on Engadget.

Disneyland #2: Fireworks!
I will upload numerous posts over the next week or so. They will all feature bits of info and pictures that I've taken from my recent trip to Disneyland. Some posts will include the Tiki Room's 45th Anniversary, Toy Story Mania, and the parks in general. Now, keep in mind that these pictures are taken with a 2-megapixel iPhone, in undesired lighting conditions, and taken while in motion, so the photos won't be perfect.
For this Disneyland #2 post, in honor of Independence Day, here are tons of pictures of the fireworks show at Disneyland, Remember... Dreams Do Come True.

People to Wait On Concrete for One Week For 3G iPhone

How crazy are you about being the first to get the iPhone 3G? Well, whatever you answered, you can't possibly be as crazy as the 10 or so people who are waiting right now outside of the Apple Store on 5th Avenue in New York. The people at the very front of the line are a couple and a young baby. They are hoping to break some ludicrous record about having a baby in a line for a long time, or some nonsense. Here are some pictures from Engadget. Oh, and if you live in New York and want an iPhone 3G, you might wanna take the next week off of work and go ahead and hop in line.
Update: As of right this moment, it is raining in Manhattan. Thus, the couple and their baby have left. Also, closed tents are being set up along the queue. They must really want an iPhone 3G.

Sadly, There'll be No More Clowning Around for Larry Harmon

Does the name Larry Harmon mean anything to you? I don't think it will. But what about Bozo the Clown? I am almost certain that that name will ring a bell. You recognize it because Bozo the Clown was "a show business staple that delighted children for more than a half-century." And Larry Harmon is the one who popularized and was the most well-known Bozo the Clown.
Larry Harmon, or Bozo the Clown, was a great entertainer. "Bozo is a combination of the wonderful wisdom of the adult and the childlike ways in all of us," Harmon said. Well, I'm sorry to say, but he died today of congestive heart failure in his home at the age of 83 years.
So long Bozo, you were the original clown, and you will not be forgotten.

Is Steve Jobs Replaceable?

This is the question that this Forbes article addresses. It talks about how Steve Jobs, obviously, can't remain the CEO of Apple forever. Somebody has to eventually takeover the vast computer company. But who? Back in the 1980s somebody did take Apple from Steve, and that was a disaster. It was Pepsi President John Sculley, who was Jobs' apprentice. Then, in 1985, Sculley kicked Jobs out, took a hold of Apple, and basically flushed it down the toilet. 10 years later, Jobs got control back, and Apple flew back to the top as one of the kings of computing and media players.
Who else could do something so extremely positive for a company? Who else could bring Apple up from the bottom and back to the top so successfully? Well, Forbes isn't sure that Apple will be able to find such a well-rounded and smart leader: "Apple will need much more than a skilled manager. 'The new person will have to fit that culture like a glove, if that person comes in and tries to change the culture, forget it, it's over,' Sweeney says. 'The passion, the creativity ... none of that can change.'"
Even more alarming than the fact that Steve Jobs is most likely not replaceable, is what the "Fake Steve Jobs" mentioned in this piece, about halfway down the page. He said that he'd "be surprised if Jobs was CEO by the end of the year due to health concerns." Sure, Apple says that its just a "common bug", but of course they'd say that, even if it was serious. Steve's appearance was trivial at WWDC, but I don't think that Jobs'll leave just because of that. Only time will tell. Until then, get well soon, Jobsy!
